Frequently Asked Questions about ECO Ultra "Green" Oil

LogoQ: What is re-refined oil?
A: Re-refined oil could be called double refined oil. Post consumer oil goes through a hydro treating process to create re-refined base oil. This process is very similar to the refining process used for crude oil. The re-refined base oil is then blended with new additives to create ECO Ultra Oils.

Q: Are ECO Ultra Oils as high quality as major brand oils?
A: Yes. ECO Ultra Oils must meet the same standards as virgin oils. The American Petroleum Institute (API) only licenses products that meet these standards and are identified with the API starburst and donut symbol on the bottle or package. ECO Ultra Oils meet the latest API SM and ILSAC GF-4 specifications.

Q: Is ECO Ultra Oil okay to use in my automobile?
A: Yes. You can achieve the same level of performance from refined oil as you can from virgin oil.

Q: Will ECO Ultra Oil effect my warranty or hurt my engine?
A: No. ECO Ultra Oils meet and exceed OEM service requirements specified by automobile manufacturers. The OEM warranty will be supported by using oils which comply with these service requirements.

Q: How many times can oil be re-refined?
A: Post consumer oil can be re-refined over and over with no reduction in the quality of the finished lubricant. Base oil does not wear out, it becomes contaminated with the byproducts of combustion and the additive package becomes depleted. The contaminants and additives are removed during the re-refining process.
